The Michelin Guide's review
Trou aux Cerfs, the crater of an extinct volcano overrun with thick shrubs and undergrowth, 180m wide at the base and 80m deep, evokes the stag hunts organised in honour of the royal princes in the 19C. The road that hedges it looks down over the city, the cane fields and the ocean farther off to the west, framed by the Trois Mamelles, Rempart and Corps de Garde Mountains, and by Mare Longue reservoir.
