The Michelin Guide's review
Tucked away in the mountains, this hidden valley is a "tiny slice of paradise". Here, among its curious terrain of "mogotes", tranquillity reigns supreme. Dotted with bohíos (palm-leaf roofed houses), this red earth landscape is enriched by the varied colours of its abundant vegetation. As well as the village of Viñales and the Santo Tomás cave, sights include the mural de la Prehistoria (a fresco created on a hillside) and the extraordinary village of Los Acuáticos.
