The Michelin Guide's review
The main appeal of the town of Cruas is its 11C Benedictine abbey church. This handsome Romanesque edifice is dominated by a sturdy square bell tower and a second circular turret above the transept. Notice the elegant decoration of the Lombardy bands and low-key ornamentation of the east wall. The edifice is home to a rare monastic gallery and some remarkable carved capitals depicting animals, plants and scenes of daily life.
