Church and baptistry of St John
The Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
This was the church of the piève (former village) of Venaco, which in this part of Aleria, served as an annex to the cathedral. All that remains are an apse and the foundations of three naves. An elegant semi-circular east wall made of shale, decorated with Lombardy stripes and blind arcades, is still visible. The clover-leaf-shaped baptistry is remarkably well preserved.
