The Michelin Guide's review
Corsham Court, an Elizabethan manor house, was built in 1582 and altered and enlarged on several occasions to house the considerable Methuen collection including works by Caravaggio, Guido Reni, Tintoretto, Veronese, Rubens and Van Dyck. The Cabinet Room contains Fra Filippo Lippi's Annunciation (1463) and side tables attributed to Chippendale (1718-79). The highlight of the Octagon Room is Michelangelo's Sleeping Cupid (1496).
