The Michelin Guide's review
The ruins of this Roman city, which flourished until the 5C, are sited on a triangular spur defined by two steep-sided rocky valleys. Their well-preserved mosaics are among the finest on the Iberian Peninsula, especially in the Casa dos Repuchos (House of Water Games), where there is an extraordinary variety of mosaics. As for the Casa de Cantaber (named after the owner), it is one of the largest residences in the Western Roman Empire.
