The square is bordered by the façade of the Chiesa di Santa Maria delle Stelle, with its different registers balanced by the Doric, Ionic and Corinthian pillars. In the middle of the square there is a neo-Classical covered market that now accommodates the Museo Civico di Storia Naturale, where you can see a bizarre collection of cetaceans and turtles.
