Between Coll de Nargó and Tremp, the road winds past a series of canyons dominated either by slopes clad in pine and holm oak or barren hillsides. It continues upwards with the river on one side and yellow and pink crests on the other, offering views over amazing landscapes, particularly from the Bóixols pass (1 380m).
