The square is made up of a large basalt esplanade to the north extended by a huge granite expanse, with a line of 26 fountains running across it. With its numerous café terraces, Place de Jaude is the heart of the Clermont-Ferrand urban area. Numerous musical, cultural and community events take place here throughout the year.
