The Michelin Guide's review
This wilderness area covering 71 000ha of untamed landscapes is a paradise for hiking enthusiasts. It is criss-crossed by hundreds of kilometres of marked footpaths which pass through formations of yellow and red sandstone bordered by conifer forests. You will undoubtedly spot a few baboons watched over by black eagles, several species of antelope and, with a little luck, a few nocturnal leopards. The region is also home to numerous caves painted by Bushmen.
