Collezioni Burri
The Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
In his works, Alberto Burri (1915-95), a forerunner of Arte Povera, favoured humble materials, allowing the material to take precedence over colour and form. For example, the use of jute canvas for his series of sacks (Sacchi), resin (for Cretti) etc. The Burri Collection houses 257 works housed in the Palazzo Albizzini (Via Albizzini 1) and the Ex Seccatoi del Tabacco (Via Francesco Pierucci), the former tobacco-drying warehouses, near the train station.
