The town of Llámac is a departure point popular with Andeans, experienced hikers, photographers and botanists who want to discover the awesome and magnificent Cordillera of Huayhuash, whose 30km features a jagged ridge, immaculate summits reminiscent of the Himalayas over 6,000m high. Their ascension is moreover reputed to be even more difficult to that of the Cordillera Blanca. It is the second highest summit of Peru, Nevado Yerupajá (6,634m).
