St Thomas the Apostle
The Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
The architect Byrne, a student of Frank Lloyd Wright, designed the Catholic Church of St Thomas the Apostle, which was revolutionary when it opened in 1924. Some details are reminiscent of Gaudí's Sagrada Familia in Barcelona. Note the convent portal on the boulevard, as well as the main façade overlooking the garden, from where the view reveals the majesty of the building. The furniture, the stained-glass windows and grates seem to hesitate between modern and neo-medieval.
