John Jacob Glessner House
The Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
Glessner House was built in 1887 by Henry Hobson Richardson for a wealthy manufacturer of agricultural tools. Behind its solid walls of brick and stone, the house boasts a well-preserved decor inspired by the Arts and Crafts movement, where the William Morris wallpaper blends perfectly with the simply worked wood, Japanese pieces, Art Nouveau vases and Oriental-style ceramics by William Frend De Morgan.
