Charnley-Persky House
The Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
With its plain brick and limestone façade and horizontal form, the Charnley-Persky House has an abstract and geometric design which paved the way for the Prairie style. Frank Lloyd Wright designed the house in 1892 when he still worked for Adler & Sullivan. Built around an atrium lit by a skylight on the second floor, the house comprises 11 rooms which were beautifully restored in the 1980s.
