The Alishan Forest Railway zigzags its way up the slopes of Mount Ali, from 30m/100ft to over 2000m/6,560ft above sea level over 72km/45mi in 3hr30, taking in chasms, bridges and bends and going through the famous sea of clouds to reach the Alishan Forest Recreation Area.
