The Michelin Guide's review
Wat Suan Dok is, perhaps, the most bucolic of Chiang Mai's temples, as it was built in the 14C in the gardens of King Mengrai. Behind its high walls you'll find a forest of white bell-shaped chedi, similar to those found in Sukhothai, containing the ashes of the royal family. However, the jewel in Wat Suan Dok's crown is its bronze Buddha (in the small wihan), dating from the 15C and created in keeping with the artistic traditions of the Lan Na style.
