The Michelin Guide's review
Although partly destroyed by an earthquake, the majestic chedi of Wat Chedi Luang still stands at a height of 60m. The staircase is guarded by two terrifying, monumental naga (legendary serpents). At the top of the steps, a meditating Buddha can be seen in a niche at each of the four cardinal points, overlooking the caryatid elephants which surround the base of the building. Also of interest is the giant Buddha, the 15C Phra Attharot, visible in the wihan.
