Cheung Chau, with its fishing village, port and curious bun festival, is an island that continues to cultivate old traditions. Where the ferry arrives, multi-coloured signs announce the happy events blessing inhabitants. In the village, stalls sell snacks that foodies will lap up. If you get here sufficiently early you will be treated to a charming view of the port: the village looks particularly cheerful with the colourful fishing boats alongside.
