The Michelin Guide's review
The old market square boasts several buildings with high, pointed roofs and two fountains: one features the statue of the knight Roland, a champion of citizens' rights, the other a statue of Hercules. The square is also home to a small cluster of buildings known as the Spalícek, with its characteristic narrow alleyways and half-timbered upper storeys. On the east side stands the Baroque town hall (Radnice), and to the north the Cheb Museum.
