The Michelin Guide's review
The callejón de Conchucos is depicted by a series of small, cultivated basins, each of which is occupied by an agricultural town, linked by deep valleys or separated by wild and inhospitable punas. The peaks of the Cordillera Blanca have slopes that are at least as spectacular as those of Huaraz to the west. To the east, the horizon is bordered by a chain of the long Cordillera Oriental, less elevated and devoid of snow-capped peaks, which separates the callejón from the Río Marañón valley.
