The Michelin Guide's review
This magnificent structure (built in 1855-56) spans the Suize valley, allowing the railway lines to enter the town centre. Comprising 50 three-storey arches, it is 654m long and 52m high. Work on the viaduct is scheduled to continue indefinitely, and for the time being it will no longer be accessible to pedestrians wishing to take in the panoramic view. Once the works are complete, the viaduct will once again be illuminated every evening at dusk.
