The Michelin Guide's review
You make your way around the vast expanse of Shenandoah National Park by following Skyline Drive. This road uses the old Native American tracks all along Blue Ridge. Its 75 viewpoints make for moments of pure delight for the eyes, with their rounded hills, rocky peaks, woods and picturesque farmhouses. The very impressive Luray Caverns and Monticello, Thomas Jefferson's remarkable house, are two absolute musts.
