Prémysl Ottokar II Square

 Michelin Guide
 Well worth the diversions
Civil and military monument
  The Michelin Guide's review
Prémysl Ottokar II Square forms a perfect 133m x 133m square, whose Classical sober paving was designed in the 1930s by Pavel Janák, architect of the castle of Prague. Lined by opulent arcaded houses, a superb Fountain of Samson, built between 1721 and 1726 to supply the town in water from the Vltava, stands in its centre. Also worthy of mention is the impressive town hall, a triple-turreted Renaissance edifice, altered in 1730 in a Baroque style.
