Hezlett House
The Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
This large thatched cottage built in 1691 was a parsonage for Derry's Protestant rectors for 70 years. It was then taken over by the Hezlett family. A visit here gives you an idea of living conditions in the 18C and 19C and sheds light on the architectural techniques that went into constructing the buildings. The Victorian furnishings in the house and the adjoining museum of farming tools bring a little life to proceedings.
