The Michelin Guide's review
The Cistercian abbey of Sant'Antimo lies to the south of Montalcino in the heart of a typically, enchanting Tuscan landscape of olive and cypress trees. It is a fine example of Romanesque architecture and Burgundian style, evident in the ambulatory with radiating chapels. The porch and façades are typically Lombard. Note the graceful proportions of the deambulatory, the light apse, the handsome frescoes and the capitals, thought to be the work of the Master of Cabestany, an anonymous 12C sculptor.
