Dedicated to the Roman army, this museum is the largest of the museums covering the history of Hadrian's Wall. To get the most out of your visit, first watch the Eagle's Eye projection: a 3D animated film on the construction of the wall. The museography, geared towards children, displays clothes, everyday objects, bronze and gold coins, as well as a precious statue of a goddess. To the east, 800m away, Walltown Crags affords splendid views of Hadrian's Wall.
