Paris Church of Santa Maria de Cárquere
The Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
The priory is preceded by a small aedicula housing a Calvary. On one side there is a Crucifixion, on the other a Deploration. The church, which has been altered several times, has a Romanesque portal decorated with small columns and tracery capitals. A monumental arch connects it to the funeral Chapel of the Lords of Resende, which has an eye-catching Romanesque window set into it with pelican-sculpted capitals; it houses four stone sarcophagi carved with animals and inscriptions.
