The Michelin Guide's review
Dating from 1367, the synagogue was rebuilt in the 18C. The room reserved for worship on the first floor is very simple yet richly decorated. On the ground floor, note the 14C Mikvah (a ritual bath for purification), approximately 15m² in area and 2m deep, which was sourced from a natural spring - a direct link with the waters of Eden. Daily and unleavened bread were baked in the ovens here until the early 20C.
