The Michelin Guide's review
The Castle of Good Hope was built by the Dutch East Indies Company in the late 17C according to a star plan inspired by Vauban's constructions. The fortress, where the Western Cape command post has been located since the early 20C, also houses the Military Museum and the William Fehr Collection, worth seeing, which contains Dutch furniture and paintings. Don't miss the view from the top of the ramparts.
