The Michelin Guide's review
What first strikes you as you enter the unique desert terrain of this park is the host of lofty sandstone columns, some of which reach up to 50m from the ground. The spires appear white or grey in the middle of the day, taking on shades of red and orange at dusk and dawn. Highway 12 cuts through the stone desert in several places, while two trails allow visitors to get closer a closer look at the rock formations.
