The Michelin Guide's review
This highly original church was built in the late 15C by Mateus Fernandes (architect of Batalha Monastery) and has an elegant bell tower with windows decorated in the Manueline style. The inside walls are completely covered by 17C azulejos. Note the fronts of the altars, adorned with fine Moorish azulejos, and the attractive triptych attributed to Cristóvão de Figueiredo (early 16C) above the triumphal arch.
