The Michelin Guide's review
Set off the road in a garden, the Baroque façade of the 17C San Francisco church, far more understated than that of the cathedral, is without doubt the first Christian sanctuary founded in Peru. The entrance to the catacombs is near the main altar. The church abuts a convent open to the public, which stands on the site of a temple or palace that the Spanish referred to as the Fuente del Inca.
