The Michelin Guide's review
Initially an 11C abbey-church, the Church of La Trinité is a masterpiece of Romanesque art. Its vast nave with nine bays was inspired by Benedictine abbeys, while the chancel stands watch over the tomb of Queen Matilda, founder of the Abbaye-aux-Dames (Convent). Go down into the beautifully preserved crypt to admire its close-set columns and a decorative fragment depicting the Last Judgement.
