The Michelin Guide's review
In 1777, Charles III entrusted the architect Sabatini with the task of creating a model of Cádiz on a scale of 1/250. This request, apparently a royal whim, reveals good sense if you think about the 18C when the State was consolidating its position through a census of the population, establishment of a land registry etc. This museum shows the result of this undertaking: a marvellously precise 25m2 model made from mahogany, ebony and ivory, in which you can recognise many of the current buildings in Cádiz.
