The Michelin Guide's review
Travelers are surprised to find such a rugged landscape as this natural reserve, its rocky tors rising above prairie lakes. A winding road to the top of 2,464ft Mount Scott affords a broad view. A new Visitor Center describes four major habitat areas and resident wildlife, including bison, elk and deer. In the eastern part of the refuge is the unusual Holy City of the Wichitas, a quarter-mile-long Easter Passion Play set built of rock by hand.
