The Michelin Guide's review
This church dates back to the romanesque period and was renovated in the 16C. Historically, it housed the military order of the Brothers of Cáceres (which was borne out of the military order of St-Jacques-de-Compostelle). Inside stands a retable by Alonso Berruguete (1557) representing several scenes from the life of Christ. Opposite the church, the Godoy Palace stands with its imposing corner coat of arms and a fine patio decorated with azulejos.
