The Michelin Guide's review
This cape, the southwesternmost point of Europe, dominates the ocean from a height of 75 m. It has always been regarded as a sacred place and the Romans named it "promontorium sacrum"... The old fortress situated on the cape was converted into a lighthouse. It offers unrestricted views over the cliffs in a northerly direction and over the point of Sagres to the east.
