The Michelin Guide's review
Byron Bay's Main Beach is hugely popular. Part of it is supervised, making it a good spot for budding surfers. At sunset groups congregate on the lawns that extend along the seafront to have a drink and listen to music. To the west, The Wreck is a point break formed by the wreckage of a ship. Belongil Beach stretches out beyond, and is frequented by nudists. To the east, Main Beach extends into Clarkes Beach, north of which lies The Pass, a favourite location for experienced surfers.
