Known as the "City", Belváros is the historic centre of Pest, along with Lipótváros. It is a lively district with banks, administrative buildings, shops, cafés and restaurants, and a number of popular pedestrianised shopping streets. Because of the reduced traffic, evenings and Sundays are the best time for a pleasant stroll along the river.
