The Michelin Guide's review
Bucharest's inns bear witness to the city's merchant past, especially in the Lipscani district. Indeed, Hanul lui Manuc has remained loyal to its tradition of hospitality and is still a hotel. It takes its name from an Armenian merchant, Manuc-Bey (1769-1817). Its vaulted cellars, rooms rich in souvenirs and inner paved courtyard (sadly privatised) are impressive.
