The Michelin Guide's review
The jewel of "Little Paris", the Romanian Athenaeum was for a time dedicated to literature but its Baroque cupola, on which are inscribed the leading names of continental culture, now houses the National Philharmonic Orchestra. Six Ionic columns compose the handsome neoclassical façade, inlaid with mosaics that depict Romania's sovereigns. Inside, note the hall and the wall paintings in the great room, reputed for its acoustics.
