The Michelin Guide's review
This classically-appointed, haven of tranquillity was designed in 1774-75 by Claude Antoine Fisco, on the spot where the drapers used to lay out their sheets in a meadow. The monument by Guillaume Geefs (1838) in the centre, is dedicated to those who died in the 1830 revolution while to the north stands a monument (1897) in tribute to Jenneval, author of the Belgian national anthem, who was killed in 1830.
