To the southwest, on the top of the slope is a collection of typical long houses with the living quarters in the upper part and the stable area below. The walls are made of peat. Between the church and the cliff (to the east) are the remains of buildings from various periods, the purpose of which has not yet been determined. Some of them are thought to correspond to Earl Thorfinn's palace.
