The Michelin Guide's review
Broeker Veiling was the largest wholesale vegetable market in Europe accessible by boat. Between 1847 and 1973, local market gardeners brought their vegetables to market by boat. The narrow boats remained moored at the quayside, and from 1903 went right into the auction room! The splendid hall with its wooden pontoons and basins was turned into the Museum Broekerveiling and is devoted to the history of Dutch horticulture and agriculture.
