The Michelin Guide's review
The square owes its current name to Giovanni Battista Montini, who came from this region and is better known as Pope Paul VI (1963-78). The immense white-marble Duomo Nuovo (17C) dominating the square boasts a solemn and imposing interior home to some fine works of art. It is flanked by the Rotonda, which houses the magnificent pink-marble sarcophagus of Bishop Berardo Maggi (1308), and the Broletto, an austere Romanesque building crowned by a solid square tower.
