The Memorial Juscelino Kubitschek (1981) was built upon the initiative of Sarah Kubitschek in honour of the city's founder, who died in a car accident in 1976. On the ground floor of the building, which was designed by Niemeyer, you will find Juscelino Kubitschek's office furniture and personal library. On the first floor, black-and-white photos retrace his life; those that were taken during the construction of Brasília are particularly interesting. In the centre of it all is the ex-President's tomb, which lies under a stained-glass window designed by Marianne Peretti.
