The Michelin Guide's review
Probably built in the 11C, the Romanesque bell tower is not part of the abbey church but rather built on a 12m-high rock, beneath which are huge caverns that can be visited. The tower features four, cleverly laid tiered levels. The façade is depicted by triangular gables crowned by large bay windows, all of which topped by a stone pyramid. Its age and unusual architecture make this monument one of the masterpieces of Romanesque art in Limousin.
