The Michelin Guide's review
This church was part of a long-gone 12C Romanesque Cistercian monastery. All that remains is the Romanesque chevet with its apse and semi-circular apsidioles, with rows of blind arcades. Unique in Portugal in terms of its shape and the bricks used, it is allied to the Spanish churches of the Order of Cluny and associated with the pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela.
