São Frutuoso de Montélios chapel
The Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
Situated on one of the Portuguese pilgrim routes to Santiago de Compostela, this Visigoth chapel built in the 7C abuts the Baroque São Francisco church. It is said to have been partly demolished by the Moors, then rebuilt in the 11C. It has a Greek Cross floor plan and shows some Byzantine influence. A door on the right side leads to a small exhibition presenting a few relics and charting the history of this chapel, a model of which gives you an idea of the original appearance.
